A36



ASTM A-36 is a general purpose structural quality low carbon steel without advanced alloying. It has good forming, weldability and mechanical properties and easy to fabricate using structural methods like mild cold and hot forming or welding.  A-36 specifications for standard bars, shapes and plates 8” or less in thickness maintain yield strength of 36,000 psi and an ultimate tensile strength of 58,000 to 80,000 psi. Elongation in 2” is a minimum of 23%. This material is easily welded using all welding processes. Commonly produced in sheet, plate, bar, and structural shapes, its intended use is riveted, bolted or welded construction like that of bridges and buildings and for general structural purposes where aforementioned A-36 specifications are required.

AR 500

AR500 is a medium carbon, manganese alloy with moderate Brinell hardness. It is a quench and tempered high strength alloy steel which has superior abrasion resistance and toughness. It was designed for wear and impact resistance with outstanding corrosion and fatigue resistance. Its Brinell hardness ranges from 460-544BHN.  This premium steel is heat treated for through hardening with improved welding capabilities. Given the high strength of the plate forming is possible but difficult. It has a tensile strength of 225,000 psi, yield strength of 200,000 psi and 12% elongation in 2”. AR-500 alloy steel will reduce material handling costs to a minimum for earth moving, mining and other similar industries in which a combination of toughness and abrasion resistance is required. Because of its exceptional durability in slide wear, rub wear and heavy wear it is used in mining equipment, truck trailer industry, concrete and aggregate industries.

A500

A500 is a specification for cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing. It has a high strength to weight ration with excellent compression support characteristics and torsional resistance. A500 structural tubing can be bent, formed, punch and drilled making it easy for use. It is designed for riveted, welded or bolted construction of bridges, buildings and for general purpose applications.
